It is time for another beauty brand review from Scandinavia. It took me a while to get around to doing a review on this brand since we moved and everything was a bit hectic but at least I got a good 3 months of usage of these products before letting you know my thoughts.
A bit about the brand
‘Lumene’ was inspired by Lake Lummenne, located in central Finland. Fundamental to all life, Pure Arctic Spring Water, in its purest form, is the common thread between many of their products. The core range includes Nordic Birch Sap as well as the Spring Water which supercharge skin with moisture.
I tried the 3 liquid products for the face. A bronzer, a blush and a liquid highlight. I really like the blush. It is super pigmented so you only need the smallest amount. The highlight is superb. The bronzer is great but I just prefer using a powder bronzer so I don’t find myself reaching for it often. It is also a bit too warm for my very pale skin since I prefer to use contour and not bronzer. It is however, super easy to blend and to use so people who love liquid bronzers would probably love it.
Overall these 3 products are super bendable, super light and natural on the skin.
The serum foundation from Lumene’s makeup range was not my cup of tea. I have stuff to cover so I usually use medium coverage foundation. This product it is more suited towards people with perfect skin that just want to use something to add radiance and even out the skin tone just a little. It is light and very moisturising so I think it could be perfect for the winter season layered under foundation but I am yet to test it in that way.
I have to say the masks are great. I tried both the moisturising one and the deep cleansing one. They really do their job and I could see the results afterwards. I also love the packaging of the deep cleansing one. So pretty with the rose-gold detail. This mask has some birch bits in it which looks super cool when you put it on 🙂 The gel mask is my favourite out of the 2 though.
I often get allergic reactions from makeup removers but with this one I never did, that is a big plus for me.
I absolutely love the makeup remover. It removes even waterproof makeup, it is gentle and super easy to use. I often get allergic reactions from makeup removers but with this one I never did, that is a big plus for me. With the serum, face-mist my skin got a little bit angry and red. I think that might be due to the fragrance in the products since I could detect quite a strong fragrance in these products. I have to say though, that my skin is quite sensitive so for people who are not as skin sensitive I would still recommend these products. Why? Because even though my skin got a bit red, I still saw the results from these products. The serum visibly boosted the moisture in my skin and the mist has a very good fine sprayer and never spoils makeup when you apply it on top of it.
The creams are really nice and super moisturising but still light. Sadly one of them got the lid melted when I was flying. Probably the bag was too close to the engine. Crazy right?
The must haves from the range
There are a couple of products that stood out to me especially in the range. The first one is the Gel Mask. It’s texture is super fun, aerated and feels super cooling on the skin. When I need my skin to be supercharged with moisture I dampen my skin a little and put this mask on for about 20min. The results are truly phenomenal.
Another product from the rage that I really love is the highlighter in white. Not only the packaging is so natural but the effect is natural but visible. With subtle light reflection the skin is lit within and since it is in liquid form. The product melts in with the skin beautifully which means the highlight is undetectable and there is no makeup like feeling. A must have for sure.
The last product that truly impressed me is the matt gel cream. I actually thought I wouldn’t like it at all. I have combination skin but I tend to be a bit more dry so I prefer more moisturising creams. This one however, is super light since it is a gel formula but it still leaves me skin hydrated enough without any oily feeling. This matt moisturiser is crazy because I never thought it would give me enough moisture in the dry areas.
